your transitional summer to autumn wardrobe

by anna greenwood

while we’re wishing it was still sunny, here at jyo we’re finally accepting the summer is almost over.

september is less than two weeks away, bringing with it the chillier weather and the rain.

So, what can you wear when it’s definitely not hot but not quite cold yet?

here are jyo’s top picks for your autumn to summer transitional wardrobe, to keep you looking great without freezing or, let’s be honest, getting your sweat on!

jumper dresses

jumper dresses are the perfect staple piece to have in your wardrobe for this kind of weather.

the long sleeves keep you warm, and you everyone looks damn cute in an oversized hoodie.

they can be worn with tights or leggings on the colder days, or alone when it’s a bit warmer.

team with casual trainers or with thigh high boots a la ariana grande.

our tropical girl printed jumper dress comes in tan or khaki, keeping the main colour autumnal whilst still showing off some bright hues.

our coca cola girl printed t-shirt dress is that little bit longer to keep your legs warm and cosy through september.

floaty long sleeves

for transitional autumn weather you really can’t go wrong with a nice long-sleeved floaty blouse.

it’s simple- your arms are covered but a thinner floaty fabric means you won’t over heat.

not to mention you’ll of course look amazing in the flattering loose fit!

the white ruched bow tiered shift top keeps you cool in white, and adds a bit of flare with its playful bow.

the ruffle v neck long sleeved blouse gives the same effect in a different style, with lovely ruffles along the neckline and the sleeves.

our maze collar and cuff shirt is a bit less flowy and a bit more patterned, making a great light layer for work or being on the go.

light full-length trousers

it might sadly already be time to ditch all of your favourite three quarter culottes for something full length and a little more substantial.

yay for a lot less ironing!

stay comfy in our black high waist camo belted trousers, taking athleisure to the next level.

for a bit of a smarter option, the denim popper stripe wide leg trousers are a great move for anybody who will be missing their floaty summer trousers, with a comfy but chic drawstring waist.

since the camo trend is clearly here to stay through the autumn season, there’s never been a better time to jump on the trend with our light camo print cargo trousers.

a light layer

a sure-fire way to be prepared for the ever-changing weather is layers.

we might sound like your mum, but it never hurts to bring a light jacket with you!

another camo option comes in our frayed hem cropped jacket, to keep your arms warm and be thrown on over any outfit.

a dark denim jacket is an absolute classic staple that should feature in any wardrobe. simple as that!

for a longer but lighter option, a cardigan or kimono is a great option.

our white frill sleeve lace maxi kimono ties at the waist, or can be worn open for a floaty and feminine look.

bardot tops

a bardot is a great way to keep those long sleeves but still show some skin if the sun decides to pop out, and are perfect to pair with trousers or a denim skirt.

they can be dressed up or dressed down for formal, casual or a night out, making them one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe, and a valuable essential.

show some colour and get on the orange trend with our orange off shoulder ruched top, or go for white for a more classic option.

we also have it in black, white, red and khaki- one for whatever mood you’re in!

our red crochet neckline bardot is a little dressier with its floral detailing and crape paper style fabric, synching you in at the waist for that flattering finish.
