Our Fave Romcom Girlies

With the onset of Y2K fashion trends like low waisted everything and influx of pink and blue, it only makes sense that we celebrate the Queens that did it first.

Here are some of our fave Romcom girlies from the 90s and 2000s.

Sam from A Cinderella Story

The OG cool girl. Sam truly wasn’t like the Cinderella we read about in Fairy Tales with her effortless blue tops, flared jeans, and cargos. My favourite thing about her was the way she really didn’t GAF about what others thought about her, even if it was the boy she was in love with. I’m glad we had a strong female character like her to look up to, growing up. You can channel your inner Sam with our Turquoise Y2K Gold Chest Detailing Vest Top, Navy Low Waisted Flared Jeans or Khaki Wide Leg Cargo Trousers With Drawstring Waist. All you need now is an online boyfriend and waiting for you is like waiting for the rain in this draught…

Rachel Green from FRIENDS

No one did it like Rachel, fr. The way she ran off to the city to do her own thing, her character development and all those cute fits she wore in between, she really was the girlboss of the 90s. She’s worn so many cute looks (703 to be exact), it’s nearly impossible to pick our fave one but if we had to decide, it would have to be her plaid mini skirt and turtleneck look or those many bandeaux dresses she’s worn, especially that lush one she wore on Halloween where she was dressing up as ‘a woman who spent a lot of money on a dress and she wants to wear it because she won’t be able fit into soon’ (she was pregnant). Steal her look with our new Midi 90s Bandeau Dress or Black Sheer Cropped Turtleneck Top.

Jackie Burkart from That 70s Show

We know she’s not from a romcom but sitcoms are romcoms with episodes right? And Mila Kunis grew up to be the Queen of romcoms anyways… We know Jackie’s fits were inspired by the 70s but the cool thing about fashion is that it always comes back and that was definatly the case with the “bell bottoms” of the 70s that came back as flared jeans in the 2000s and they’re back again in the 2020s. You can get the Jackie Burkhart look with our Beige 90s Plaid Tiered Mini Skirt. Damn Jackie!

Bianca Stratford from 10 Things I Hate About You

The forgotten Stratford Sister, we get the hype over Kat and we love her but what about Bianca? She was a good friend and a patient sister (to an extent) and her outfits? They deserve a blog of their own. Her fits are everything we want our wardrobe to look like this Spring especially those cute floral dresses and crop tees. Get her look with our Red Floral Print Frill Detail Shift Dress or the Pink Ditsy Floral Knot Front Shirred Dress.

Jenna Rink from 13 Going Onto 30

Last one but definitely not least, the girl that is all of us. Who else was so desperate to grow up when they were small because you thought you could do anything you want at any time and now that we are grown up, we wish we could go back to the days our biggest worry was having to carry our PE kit and ingredients for Food Technology to school because we had Food Tech and PE on the same day? Everything about grown-up Jenna was iconic: her famous rhinestone dress and pink mini skirt… We know we could never be her, but you can try with our Black Ruched Detail Bardot Crop Top, Purple Satin Ruched Mini Dress or Beige Croc Print Chain Handle Shoulder Bag.

Channel your main girl energy this Spring with our new RomCom edit, available under Trending on our website.
